The reason why I Remember 9/11. For my US Government class.

It’s September 11, 2001, early in the morning in Colorado as a younger me (age five) is first of my two sisters and mom to be ready for the day. Breakfast already eaten, I decided to watch some TV, so I watched the news, which I found very interesting at this young age for it informed me that other events happened in the world besides playground kickball, tether ball and wall ball. My point of view on the event is different from everyone else who has lived through it, and I remember every detail. Due to the different time zones, the sun was just coming up in Colorado, around 6-7 am, and it was a little cloudy outside. I didn’t want to look girly so my mom only brushed my long brown hair, and got my clothes on fast. A morning rule was first to get ready got to watch TV, and that day I got ready for another kindergarten day in a few minutes. I turned on the TV, probably Good Morning America with Charles Gibson, and view of the first tower in smokes was showing. Because it said the TV station’s logo at the bottom corner, I somehow knew it was real, but I can’t explain how. A few minutes had passed, and the second plane had hit the second tower, and I remember I heard people screaming on the TV. “Mom Mom!” I cried out to get my mom to come in while pointing at the TV, my dad had already left for work before I woke up that day,

“Mom come look, a plane hit a building!” She came in and grabbed the remote.
She said, “Rachel, you shouldn’t be watching these kinds of movies” and changed the channel to Cartoon Network.
I told her a building was hit by a plane, but I doubt she understood me due to the fact I had a horrible speech problem, and no one else was in the room with me at the time. When she dropped her three daughters, Katie myself and Allison, off at school, my older sister Katie went to her second grade classroom, and Allison went to our separate kindergarten classes. I went up to the first person I saw, Ralphie Sugar, and told him what I saw on the news. I don’t remember if he believed me or not, for all he was doing was eating glue right out of the container. It wasn’t till the school sent us home early that day, and when my mom picked my sisters and myself up, she held me and cried.
“I’m sorry you had to see that, Rachy” was all she said.

To this day, I mentally cannot remove that image of death from my mind, and had to take in school therapy while attending middle school.
Based on a true story.

RIP to the victims
God be with you.

I remember they let us out early too. I kind of was just a kid and couldn't really understand what was going on. ^^; I barely even remember what I was doing that day.
